Angry Birds Rift | Update 8.0 Out Now!

Welcome back to the Digiverse!

You made it just in time, friends. Someone spilt coffee all over an arcade machine, which has only gone and caused a minor temporal distortion in spacetime. Now, strange rifts have opened, leading to other worlds in a place/not-place they’ve named The Digiverse. If you need a reminder of what the Digiverse is, you can read more about the digital phenomenon here.

We’re excited to announce our next Digiverse Rift is in partnership with Rovio and Angry Birds. Along with your usual traditional exhibits and interactive displays, this time the temporal spill has gotten a little out of control… A few living beings from the other side are trying to make their way into your museum, and these Bad Piggies are after your gold, eggs, and golden eggs.

You can now welcome in the spring and explore the world of Angry Birds in the free Two Point Museum update available right now across PC, Xbox X|S, and PS5. Coming soon to Nintendo Switch 2.

TPM_AB_BLOG_RIFT.png

Two Point experts discovered a crack in the fabric of the Digiverse and have only gone and unveiled a whole entire scheme. On the other side of this crack is the Angryverse, and Bad Piggies have gone and stumbled directly into a rift between both worlds. They’re now launching missions across the County to infiltrate top museums! Only your best Digital Experts can address this new threat, and they must venture forth into a new world to discover how best to combat this new guild of thieves.

Explore three POIs (that’s Points of Interest) to discover artefacts from the Angryverse. You’ll find new exhibits and even brand-new roaming attractions for your museums, which may just help combat pesky swines.

Alongside the new Angry Birds Digiverse Rift, curators can now spruce up their museums with new Spring Seasonal items, new highly requested outdoor toilets and picnic benches, as well as a whole spring hamper of new stuff - including those of the chocolate variety - with plenty of quality-of-life treats, too.

Angry Birds

Curator, do you have any experience with dealing with dirty, rotten behaviour? Well! Your help may just be what the Angryverse needs; they just have to get a new security system for their eggs…

TPM_AB_EGGS.png

Traversing across Digiverse realms, Matilda needs your help (yes, you, curator!) in saving eggs from the clutches of pesky piggies. You’ll need to enlist the help of roaming birds if you’re to stop this new guild from literally snorting up your donations.

Meanwhile, over on the other side, the Piggies have stolen a Golden Egg and taken it aaaaall the way to Pig City. Which is pretty much the worst place it could be. Tempers are certainly flying high.

Your adventure, strange human-curator that you are, begins in Cobalt Plateaus, where the signature blue stone of Piggy Island frames the landscape, and can be found wobbling up high and toppling down low.

There, you’ll discover a first for Two Point County: free bird Wildlife exhibits. In Cobalt Plateau, you’ll discover Red, who’ll roam freely around your museums, exciting guests, and even helping to stop criminals, including the Bad Piggies, in their tracks.

TPM_AB_SLINGSHOT.pngSlingshotting yourself out of the Plateau, you’ll fly onwards to the lush Bamboo Forest. There, your Experts will need to fly high if they’re to discover the way forward. They will delve into the thick, quick-growing forest to find the route forward.

Here is where you’ll find the rest of the gang, as Chuck and Bomb join you in your museum, alongside further pig fortresses. These structures are of delicate porcine planning, designed to keep birds out.

TPM_AB_WING.png

Once discovered and placed in your Museum, Red and the gang can daze and reveal criminals, leaving them sitting ducks for your Security Guards! Once you’ve discovered an Angry Birds exhibit, a new crime guild, The Bad Piggies, will invade your museum through rifts, targeting donation stands, information stands, and the very important eggs you discover.

You’ll finally come across the illustrious Pig City. The feather-free capital of Piggy Island is full of pigs (unsurprisingly). When they get their hands on an Egg, this is where they bring it. As the ultimate Pig Fortress, the city has been toppled and un-toppled, time and time again.

TPM_AB_BLOG_BIRDS.png

So, what’s new?

  • Experts can explore Piggy Island, visiting three new POIs: Cobalt Plateaus, Bamboo Forest and Pig City

  • Dress your guests with Angry Birds merch with new Gift Shop items

  • Collect nine exhibits, including an interactive display and new roaming Wildlife exhibits

  • Decorate with new items, wallpaper and flooring to create your very own Angryverse Museum

Spring Seasonal Event

Flowers are budding all across Two Point County, enough to make sure every bunny has an absolutely cracking day!

Make sure not to be late for this very important date, as we spring into an ear-resistible bonnet of Spring surprises. Whether it’s items ready for blossoming, a couple of dozen eggs, or bright new customisations, we’ve got the update that’s sure to ruffle some feathers. Let's hop to it:

Two Easter Isles have sprung up, manifesting in an area of intense culinary magic, enchanting the Scorched Earth with their specific type of confectionery sweetness. You’ll find these two chocolate-y POIs (that’s Point of Interest) near the compass in the South West corner of the Scorched Earth map.

TPM_SPRING_POIs.png

Easter Isles

First, you’ll embark to the Coacoapelago, an atoll of magical islands framing the southern coast of Scorched Earth, where even from the mainland the air is now sickly sweet with the inviting waft of chocolate eggs.

There, your Experts will be inspired, bringing home egg-ravaging new ideas for blossoming decor. These springtime treats will do more than give your museum a spring clean, however, as these egg-citing discoveries will entice a brand new visitor type to your museum: Egg Hunters.

TPM_BUNNY.png

If you manage to impress these Hunters with your cracking finds, you’ll then have the opportunity to embark onwards to Bon Bon Boondox, a region notorious for being more than a spoonful of sugar sweet.

It’s not all sunny-side up on this new Isle, as on the quest for chocolate eggs, your staff may be in for a Fowl Surprise, or perhaps even a bad hare-day. The region is well-known for many seasoned explorers going missing; perhaps they decided to stay where the grass is sweeter? You’ll be the one to find out.

So, what’s new?

  • Hop over to two new egg-travegent Points of Interest that make up the Easter Isles, hidden away in Scorched Earth

  • Explore to find three new exhibits, including a new cute and fluffy Habitat critter and new Botany discoveries

  • New customisation options for your walls and floors

  • Bring spring blossoming into your museum with new free decor items:

  • Take the cake (literally) with new Chocolate Cake Kiosk

  • …and a whole basket full of chocolate eggs!

How does it work?

Seasonal POIs are a bit special; they only appear during the seasonal event. Plan your expeditions to discover the new basket of goodies on offer, whilst the event is live.

The Easter Isles are ready for exploration, and you’ve plenty of time to fill your basket and collect your blooming exhibits before May 30th. And don’t worry, we’ll post plenty of reminders before it’s time to say goodbye to spring’s blooms.

In the settings menu, you can now choose between each seasonal event, meaning you can revisit the seasons whenever you please.

And the best bit: decorations are forever! Once you’ve unlocked the lovely seasonal decorative items, they’re yours to keep, no matter the season. Plus, the event’s POIs will make an annual return, just like the turning of the seasons themselves. So, you can always revisit them next year to enjoy the fresh blossoms!

Update 8.0

New High-Level Curator Class Rewards

We heard you loud and clear, Curators! The well-seasoned explorers amongst you will be glad to hear that new Curator-Class rewards are up for grabs to reward you for your continued efforts in the higher levels of museum management

TPM_TICKET.png

These extra shiny items will bring extra utility to your museums, where now guests will be able to ‘self-serve’ when purchasing a museum ticket, or even for Gift Shop purchases, freeing up some of your ever-busy, multi-skilled Assistants. Alongside these is a dazzingly new high-tech security archway, complete with lasers (of, course), and a bank full of shiny golden items to show off your prestiguous reputation amongst curators across the County.

These lovely rewards will automatically unlock for those of you who have gone above and beyond in the realm of mayhem management. If you’re working towards your museum legacy, the new rewards are seen from Curator Class 9 all the way through to 15.

Outdoor Items

If you didn’t know, new outdoor items ranked X in our community feedback round-up (which you can read more about here). An outdoor toilet ranked top amongst those suggestions, and we’re here to deliver.

TPM_OUTDOOR_LOO.png

To top off your new park areas, Vending Machines are now placeable inside and out so now you can now create the perfect picnic area, complete with facilities, right in time for the spring season. We’ll keep working on new outdoor items in future updates, too, so keep your ideas coming in!

New POI Briny Bay

Ferreted away in a small basin in Farflung Isles, the previously thought lifeless waters of Briny Bay have surprised even well-adventured Experts.

TPM_SALTED_FISH.png

You can now explore the cold, brackish depths to discover a new marine life exhibit. The saline levels of this stretch of water are perfect for resigning oneself to floating along limply as powerful current buffets you this way or that, for fish who are tired of swimming, and aren’t blubbered either way.

Quality-of-Life Changes

Sandbox Settings

(with more to come, too!)

We heard you loud and clear and have delivered new sandbox options so you’re able to fine-tune your sandbox mode experience even further.TPM_SANDBOX.png

When customising your sandbox, you can now unveil the entirety of the Expedition Maps, unlocking all Points of Interests, and even setting survey level to start at it’s max level, meaning Pristine Exhibits can be found immediately.

We know there’s more settings you’d like to see in sandbox, and we’re working towards adding more functionality as we go, check out this blog here for more about our process behind implementing these - and, keep the suggestions coming!

New Item Icons & Exhibit Filters

It’s now easier than ever to differentiate between where or what items are in your Items Menu, and there’s even new Filters for the Inventory that houses your Exhibits and Interactive Displays.

New icon backgrounds means you can easily see where an item is from, so there’s no need to search high and low for new seasonal or DLC items going forward. Alongside this, in the Inventory, you can now use the new tabs to filter by Exhibit Theme, which is extended across the Interactive Display and Utilities menus too.

…and much more:

  • Added new option for simultaneous yaw/pitch mouse controls

  • Wildlife Exhibit trait updates and New Cursed Object Traits

  • You can now see how many variants an animal has by hovering over their quality icon in the inspector

  • Guests will no longer view empty rooms, and won’t complain about empty rooms not having info stands

  • You can now see how many of each exhibit are in your museum in the sticker book.

As usual, this update also comes with a load of bug fixes, improvements and optimisation changes.

Thank you all (again!) for providing feedback, sending us your ideas, reporting bugs and giving us suggestions for new content. If you’d like to send us your thoughts for future content or updates, or show us your fab museums, here’s the place to do that:

Happy curating, Pointians!

(P.S. One of the best things you can do to help support the studio is to leave a Steam Review! If you’ve tried your hand at curating, we’d love to hear your feedback. Thank you!)
