October Campus Round-Up!

Hey everyone!

Welcome to our first-ever Campus Community Round-Up! In this new series of monthly blogs, we'll be taking a look at all of the awesome things that have happened over the last month, as well as highlighting some of our favourite community creations.

Recap

October absolutely FLEW by! They say time goes faster, the older you get... but I'm gonna go ahead and assume it's because last month was packed with awesome stuff (please just humour me with that one ok?)

Update 2.0

Challenge Mode!

A brand-new update came flying onto your systems, complete with Halloween celebrations and of course, Challenge Mode! Getting that feeling of missing out? No worries! Both challenge modes are sticking around in game, so you can check out both pumpkin-headed Spiffinmoore and the Siege of Noblestead in your own time.

In our Community Challenge, we set you all a target to beat our developers' top score of 501 in The Siege of Noblestead and WOW did you do it... (a little too quickly for our liking but hey). One of our lovely Two Point County Residents, Rebecca, blasted through the score with a total of 731, unlocking this glorious Pumpkin Trophy for everyone to enjoy.

Since then we've seen more crazy scores of over 1100. So we're thinking the next one's going to have to be a little harder...

Creative Competition

Alongside our Challenge Mode, we ran our first Creativity Competition, where we asked you to create a spooky section of your Campus and share it with us on social media with the hashtag #CreepyTPCampus. We rounded up the entries and showed them off on our weekly Dev Stream with Studio Founder, Gary Carr and Design Director Ben Huskins judging them.

Needless to say, the entries were SO GOOD, it was incredibly difficult to whittle it down to just five. Thankfully though, after some arguments and a few tears (mostly mine), we came to a consensus on our favourite entries and put them up on the forum for you to vote for the winner.

Here's the winning entry from Kim, who worked on this awesome diorama!

Sadly, the Halloween celebrations came to an end last week (we can't celebrate it forever!) after adding a week-long extension to it for our wonderful Switch players. We're pleased so many of you enjoyed the new content, so keep an eye out for more seasonal updates in the future!

Developer Stream Highlight

This month's best Two Point Twitch moment goes to... Our QA Manager, Kris Denman with his little chair malfunction... take a look below!

Remember, you can tune in every week on Wednesday at 16:00 UTC to relax and have some fun with our team, we chat about lots of serious topics (gravy) and answer your questions (mostly on cabbages, strangely...)

Community Creations

You're ALWAYS showing off your creativity, so we want to highlight some of our favourites! Of course, we couldn't do this without showing off some of the entries to the Creativity Competition. So take a look here for the finalist entries, and below for a few honourable mentions!

Here's Jack's entry with a super awesome, pumpkin-shaped building!

ToastyBanini's spooky Knight Tower (how long did it take to place all that grass!?)

BailyBitDesign's fantastic skull-shaped building.

Raynames massively spooky forest, we wouldn't want to walk through there!

Everyone made such fantastic campuses, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone that got involved with this. We'll definitely be doing some more in the future, so keep an eye out!

We've only got two months left in 2022 but we're not slowing down yet! We'll have news on more Two Point Campus things soon, so stay tuned.
