*PS5 discount for PS+ subscribers only.

What time does it launch?

Rides & Relics launches on 8th October 2026, around 15:00 BST on PC, PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X|S.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version will follow as soon as possible.

When can I play Rides & Relics in my museum journey?

The Rides & Relics campaign unlocks during your museum career after completing Memento Mile Act 1, the first city location. The content is also available in sandbox mode from the beginning of the game; we recommend playing the new content in campaign mode first to learn the new mechanics and tools.

What about a new museum level/location?

A brand-new location, Riquetti Gardens, is included with Rides & Relics. All players will have access to this new location, up to the first star and plot of its campaign, for free, as part of the base game DLC taster content.

Riquetti Gardens is our largest museum yet; here are our four biggest museums:

Riquetti Gardens (Rides & Relics):
SqM: 45,136
Tiles: 11,284
Plots: 6

Undee Docks (Arty-Facts):
SqM: 42,440
Tiles: 10,610
Plot: 6

Silverbottom Park (Zooseum):
SqM: 41,556
Tiles: 10,389
Plots: 7

Pointy Mountains (base-game):
SqM: 36,864
Tiles: 9,216
Plots: 33

When can I see gameplay?

On Thursday, 24th September 2026 at 15:00 BST, we’ll host a dev livestream showcasing the first act of Rides & Relics, which will be released as base-game content for all players a week later, Thursday 1st October 2026, at around 15:00 BST.

You can tune in live on our Twitch or YouTube.

How do the Custom Coasters work?

You’ll design the full loop of coastering journeys, creating your own custom coasters, tweaking everything from the height, tilt and camber to realise your own high-velocity dreams.

You’ll curate different coasters, from the sombre Monobeast Monorail for less thrill-enthusiastic guests to high-octane spins and inversions on the steel coaster. As our resident engineering expert, you’ll have full control when placing the coaster’s supports, adjusting each track piece, adding track additions like chains and boosters, and even decorative pieces.

Can you do loops?

Yes.

Not all coaster types can do inversions; each of our five custom coasters has different quirks. For example, the Steeple Chase cannot use chain lifts and must rely on boost rails.

What about free content in the game?

We will continue supporting free updates for Two Point Museum. Our next major update, version 12.0, is due soon and includes quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, and optimisations.

For Rides & Relics, all players can play through the first five Points of Interest on the new Expedition Map without purchasing the DLC. The initial plot of a new level, Riquetti Gardens, is included, along with its campaign up to the first star. Players will learn new mechanics as they hire and put to work new Funfair Experts to build and manage rides and a custom coaster, the Monobeast Monorail.

New Coaster Curation tools let you place individual coaster supports while you adjust the height, tilt, and camber as you like.

Update 12.0 introduces ten new mascots for each museum theme, fresh decor, Gift Shop items, and new outdoor options like more trees, big rocks, hedges and walls.

Everything from the first five POIs and the taster will become part of the base game; it’s not a demo, so you keep everything you unlock or discover!

This free taster, alongside update 12.0, will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on 1st October 2026.

We'll share details about the Nintendo Switch 2 DLC free taster as soon as possible.

Are there new achievements/trophies?

Yes! Rides & Relics will include five new achievements.

Why a ‘Funfair’? It doesn’t seem Museum-y.

This DLC is inspired by community requests, much like both Zooseum and Arty-Facts, but we also drew inspiration from many fairground museums across the UK and Europe.

We're UK-based, and we have so many lovely examples of funfair museums that specifically showcase traditional or vintage rides. This aesthetic was a major inspiration for Riquetti Gardens, which you'll see in the new in-game items with cream-and-green theming, filigree, and an old-timey look. Many of the rides are inspired by vintage fairgrounds in real life, but we also took time to make sure the fairground complements the existing museum themes well.

One example of this is the Carousel shown heavily in the trailer, this has a trait called "Wildlife Ride" which increases guest Buzz for Wildlife Exhibits. The Carousel also features animals from Zooseum rather than traditional horses, so it naturally fits well into your outdoor Zooseums. You may also spot other exhibits with theme tie-ins, like the Magnetic Enlightener, which is a Science Ride. The goal here was to give you the option to create a big fairground, whilst also having rides tie in with our museum themes so you can curate outdoor spaces at your existing museums.

The team focused heavily on more outdoor options, which you've requested since launch. As part of the free update, version 12.0, not only will you be able to try the first act of the DLC as part of the base game, but we're also adding a whole pack of outdoor options such as new planter decorative items in the Botany theme, and a new tab in the Foundations menu for External Walls for outside your museums. This includes a pack of outdoor walls and hedges to curate your landscapes.

The final thing to mention here is the 10+ Mascots being added to the base game; each Mascot gives a different effect, for example, the Pickledocus, a Prehistory mascot that increases guest Buzz from Prehistory exhibits.

What about the Nintendo Switch 2 release?

We’re sorry to our Nintendo Switch 2 players for the delay! The patch for the FreeLC content is currently in submission, meaning it’s awaiting approval. The submission process is when we send the release build for manual approval from the platform; each platform has a different process and lead time.

We’ll share more details about the full release date and the free taster content release for Switch 2 as soon as we know more. Thank you for your understanding.
